Why we need you: You’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth procurement and delivery of catering provisions, while maintaining high standards of quality and cost-effectiveness.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Informing the Fleet Supervisor about complaints, non-conformities, and discrepancies, and handling them effectively between vessels and suppliers.
Reviewing requisitions submitted by vessels.
Sending out inquiries for quotations to various approved suppliers.
Issuing inquiries, analyzing quotations, and submitting recommendations to the Fleet Supervisor.
Placing orders and arranging the safe and economical delivery of requested items to respective vessels at convenient ports.
Evaluating supplier offers based on performance, approved supplier lists, pricing, quality, payment terms, and previous cooperation.
Arranging transportation for catering provisions and other consumables.
Checking related invoices for accuracy and payment processing.
Preparing supplier comparison reports, bench marking supplier performance, and maintaining performance records.
Preparing customer review reports.
Assisting with the monthly closing inventories process and ensuring vessel catering accounts are accurately updated.
Performing other duties as assigned to support the department's objectives.
You need these qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, logistics, or supply chain management.
Proficiency in MS Office and general computer literacy.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
A proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
A passion for the maritime industry.
It would be nice if:
You have experience in the maritime industry or a similar field.
You are familiar with business analytics tools.
