Senior Mechanical Engineer - Caramondani Engineers

Role Description

For over 60 years, Caramondani Engineers has delivered electromechanical systems for some of Cyprus’s most important buildings and infrastructure, including hospitals, airports, hotels and power stations.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical works on site, guide project teams and solve complex technical challenges. You will oversee delivery from planning through completion, ensuring systems are installed on time and to the quality standards our clients expect.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the execution of mechanical installation works across major construction projects, ensuring compliance with approved designs, specifications, safety requirements and quality standards.
• Lead and coordinate site teams and subcontractors, setting priorities and monitoring progress against the project schedule.
• Act as the technical link between the design team and site operations, resolving installation issues and coordinating changes where required.
• Work closely with engineers, architects, clients and other contractors to ensure effective coordination throughout the project.
• Review drawings and technical documentation, inspect materials and equipment, and oversee testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.
• Monitor site progress, identify risks and provide regular updates to project management. Represent Caramondani in construction meetings and correspondence with professionalism and clarity.

Qualifications

• University degree in Mechanical Engineering and be a member of ETEK.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience managing mechanical installations for large-scale electromechanical projects.
• Confidence to led site teams and be trusted to take full control of the field, from drawings to delivery.
• Fluency in Greek and English, both written and oral
• Organized, technically sharp, and fluent in Microsoft Office tools like Excel and Word.

Additional attributes

• Experience delivering complex mechanical works in hospitals, high-rise buildings, industrial facilities or similar projects.
• Proven ability to manage subcontractors and suppliers and coordinate work across multiple trades.
• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, identify potential issues and resolve them before they affect delivery.
• A proactive approach to site management, with clear ownership of project quality, safety and progress.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to earn the trust of site teams and project stakeholders.
