Compliance Officer
Job Description
The successful candidate will be employed directly by the Company in Cyprus and will be responsible for supporting the Company’s ongoing compliance with the legal, regulatory, and reporting obligations applicable to CySEC-regulated ASPs.
The role requires a professional who can dedicate sufficient time, availability, and expertise to ensure that the compliance function operates effectively, independently, and on a permanent and ongoing basis in line with applicable CySEC expectations concerning the compliance function.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Oversee and maintain the Company’s compliance framework in line with the laws, directives, circulars, and other regulatory requirements applicable to a CySEC-regulated Administrative Services Provider (ASP);
• Conduct and maintain a risk-based compliance assessment and implement an appropriate compliance monitoring programme proportionate to the Company’s activities and regulatory exposure;
• Provide regulatory guidance and day-to-day compliance support to management and staff on matters relating to CySEC obligations, internal controls, and governance arrangements;
• Prepare, review, coordinate and submit the Monthly Prevention Statement, Quarterly Statistics returns, Annual Compliance Report, ensure that it is submitted to the Board of Directors for review and approval, and arrange its submission to CySEC together with the relevant Minutes of the Board of Directors meeting within the applicable deadline;
• Coordinate the preparation and submission of the Internal Auditor’s Annual Report to the Board of Directors and arrange submission to CySEC;
• Prepare and submit, where required, any Risk Based Supervision Framework (RBS-F) reports, questionnaires, or other supervisory submissions requested by CySEC from time to time;
• Prepare and file all required notifications of changes to CySEC, including updates relating to the Company’s details, licensed persons, employees providing administrative services, subsidiaries used for administrative services, and the details of the compliance officer, including updates on Form F196–2012–03 where applicable;
• Liaise with CySEC, external advisors, auditors, internal control functions, and relevant business units in relation to compliance matters, regulatory submissions, and follow-up actions;
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments affecting ASPs in Cyprus and ensure that any required changes to the Company’s framework are implemented in a timely manner;
• Escalate without delay any actual or potential compliance breaches, reporting delays, control deficiencies, or regulatory issues to Senior Management and the Board of Directors.
Candidate Requirements
• University degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or another relevant field.
• Previous experience in a compliance role within a CySEC-regulated entity, preferably an ASP or another Cyprus-regulated financial or fiduciary services business.
• Good knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework applicable to Administrative Services Providers in Cyprus, including CySEC reporting and notification obligations.
• Ability to prepare, coordinate, and monitor regulatory filings accurately and within strict deadlines.
• Strong understanding of governance, internal controls, risk-based compliance monitoring, and regulatory reporting processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Greek.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
Additional Requirement
The appointment is intended as an in-house part-time employment position within the Company in Cyprus. The successful candidate must satisfy the professional suitability expectations applicable to the role, and the appointment and any subsequent change in compliance officer must be handled in accordance with the applicable CySEC requirements for ASPs, including any required notification or prior approval process.
