The incumbent holding this role is responsible for ordering and procuring the required materials per project/activity cost requirements and quality specifications, as well as the shipping, delivery and clearing of goods.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for executing all purchases of construction materials, services, tools, machinery, scaffolding and shuttering
Provides support with the establishment of service agreements based on a list of predetermined suppliers and monitors their performance in coordination with the Tendering & Procurement Manager
Supports the negotiation of supplier contracts and ensures that such supplies are of consistently high quality at the most economical cost and ensures that favourable credit terms are obtained
Review the market and identify potential new suppliers
Requests and evaluates quotations and places orders to suppliers in cooperation with the Tendering & Procurement Manager and the Construction Operations Manager on the basis of the list of prequalified suppliers
Ensures the smooth Customs Clearance of all materials and ensures the dispatch of supplies and timely delivery of the goods as required
Monitors and chases outstanding orders and enquiry files on a regular basis
Provides support to the Estimating unit for any estimations and calculations for tender submissions and estimating quotations
Other responsibilities and authorities as defined in the Group’s procedures or as instructed by the Tendering & Procurement Manager

Specific Requirements
At least 3 years’ relevant experience
Experience in supporting suppliers’ contracts
Excellent skills using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering will be considered an advantage
Membership in ETEK will be considered an advantage
