Project Engineer (Cyprus)
Job Description
Iacovou Group seeks to recruit an experienced and high caliber professional for the position of Project Engineer, for its Operations in Cyprus.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient, timely, cost and quality effective execution of a project or a component of a project under the directions of the Project Manager.
- Coordinates the project site activities and ensures the project’s smooth operations in all respects.
- Liaise with the client stakeholders, the project consultants and the project team members, including the site foreman, land and quantity surveyors, operators and workers
- Checks drawings and quantities in coordination with the Procurement and Estimating units and ensures that the calculations are accurate for the work
- Assists with the selection and requisition of materials in coordination with the Procurement and Estimating units and agree on the price of the items according to the project budget/costings
- Responsible for communicating and arranging for the necessary plant, material and labor requirements
- Responsible for the overall site supervision of the works and execution of the project in line with the project timeline, cost and key milestones
- Prepares schedules of works and enquiries for procurement of materials and subcontractors, where required
- Monitors daily work productions, material stocks and carries out materials reconciliations in coordination with the Plant and the storekeeper
- Prepares site progress report and submits it to the Project Manager as required
- Controls, and coordinates the works of subcontractors and reports on their progress and or trends for problems/delays.
- Maintains accurate records for QA and QC
- Responsible for Waste Management according to the quality controls and health, safety, security and environmental policies and procedures
- Implements and promotes Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environmental Management policies and procedures.
- Develops and maintains an understanding of the contract documents, appropriate codes, standards and specifications
- Ensures the implementation of the procedures detailed in the project quality plans and method
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- At least 8-10 years of relevant experience
- Experience in Construction road works and Technical projects, will be considered as advantage
- Good knowledge of planning software such as Primavera and/or MS Project
- Planning and organizing skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Project management skills
- Analytical and numerical skills
- Problem solving and decision-making skills
- Civil Engineering specific knowledge
- Available to work in our Operations abroad
- Very good knowledge of Greek and English language
